Fall Company Outing Ideas in Connecticut

The summer may be over, but that does not mean the outdoor fun needs to end! Seize the opportunity to get your employees out of the office while you have it. Here are four great fall company outing ideas in Connecticut that can get your employees some fresh air:

  1. State Parks: Take advantage of the nice weather while you still can. Connecticut has over 100 state parks that have been around for over 100 years. Hiking and picnicking are just few of the many outdoor activities available, and there are open fields for recreation such as Frisbee, bocce ball, and other field sports.
  2. Canoeing and Kayaking: New England has some of the best canoeing and kayaking spots in the country, and the majesty extends to Connecticut too. The Connecticut and Quinnipiac Rivers have been paddled on for decades, and it is a great place to take your employees before it gets too cold. There are also several lakes and ponds that are great for canoeing and kayaking as well, and costal companies have a big ocean to explore as well.
  3. Fruit Picking: With the harvest season in full swing, it is the perfect time to go to an apple picking orchard or a farm with fruit picking. Connecticut is blessed to have several delicious orchards. Pick your own apples, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or cherries, whatever suits your fancy. It is a sweet way to get your employees out of the office.
  4. Community Service: Doing work when you have to is one thing, but doing work when you want to is a whole other feeling. Even though this is the final third of the year, there are still many outdoor volunteering opportunities. Check out the United Way of Connecticut and Volunteer Connecticut websites to find the right event for your office.
