What Does it Mean to be “Guided by Heart”?

In the insurance industry, too many agents are driven to “close the sale” and make as much money as possible. At SAVA Insurance Group, we take a much different approach — we’re Guided by Heart. This overall philosophy has helped us grow into a successful, flourishing, and respected insurance agency over the last two decades.

What does it mean to be Guided by Heart? We lead and think with our hearts first. We take the time to actually listen and make the best decisions for our clients based on their personal or professional needs. We never make a decision based on how much money we want to walk away with.

Being guided by heart is much like life’s “Golden Rule” — “Treat people the way you would want to be treated.” Treat people with respect, care, and passion; go the extra mile to help someone else; take some time out of your day to make someone else’s day better.

Being Guided by Heart also relates to SAVA’s commitment to community service. As a local insurance agency, it’s our responsibility to get involved in our community and contribute in ways that help our customers and local residents live better, safer, and happier lives. We firmly believe that a solid community is the foundation for a safe environment. We’re proud to volunteer for and contribute to the United Way, Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation, Safe Futures, hospice, educational fundraisers, and to local Connecticut families and children in need.

We also run the Shoreline Power of Together group. This is a growing group of likeminded, charitable individuals in the Southeastern Connecticut community who meet four times a year to speak for organizations that are addressing needs in our community. The group votes for one of three organizations in need and we make a joint donation of $100/member to the chosen organization. Working together, our impact on the community is more powerful, and we can efficiently raise money throughout the year.

Past recipients of Shoreline Power of Together include Austyn’s ArmyBrian’s Healing Hearts,  Safe Futures, and Waterford Country School. With every new member that joins, another $100 goes back into our community and our donations make an even larger impact.
